An Open Letter To Those Who Have Been Hurt By Church ~ Suzie Lind

As I get older, I'm noticing a trend of people exiting church who love God and desperately want to be with the saints, but they are so wounded by the people who should of loved them.

When people leave we hear the following, "They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us." 1 John 2:19
The question that has to be asked is who is "us" in most organized churches?
"You were not allowed to be the person God created you to be, because someone along the way got their traditions mixed up with their theology and couldn’t tell the difference.
Your marriage failed. Your kids were difficult. Rather than being supported in the hardest season of your life you were abandoned because no one wanted to get their hands dirty with what was happening with you." Full article HERE

Read Scripture in Context

Pastor Jim McClarty teaches very clearly of the indicative and imperitives in scripture and how if we get these backwards, it could lead us in to law keeping. This was life changing and worth 15 minutes.

How Firm a Foundation

I've been going through quite a trial the past month or two. At church yesterday we sang this hymn published in 1787 by John Rippon. I found it to be an encouragement.

1. "How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord,
 is laid for your faith in his excellent word!
 What more can he say than to you he hath said,
 to you who for refuge to Jesus have fled?

2. "Fear not, I am with thee, O be not dismayed,
 for I am thy God and will still give thee aid;
 I'll strengthen and help thee, and cause thee to stand
 upheld by my righteous, omnipotent hand.

3. "When through deep waters I call thee to go,
 the rivers of woe shall not thee overflow;
 for I will be with thee, thy troubles to bless,
 and sanctify to thee thy deepest distress.

4. "When through fiery trials thy pathways shall lie,
 my grace, all-sufficient, shall be thy supply;
 the flame shall not hurt thee; I only design
 thy dross to consume, and thy gold to refine.
